    Recovering Custom Variants

I had to reinstall Painter X on a new computer after my previous one died thus I don't have my custom variants.  However I do have all the Painter data files from the old computer in the Documents and Settings folders.  Here's the file path (old computer data):

    C:\Old Drive\Documents and Settings\Randy\Application Data\Corel\Painter X\My WS 1\Brushes\Painter Brushes\Pens

I found my custom pen variants within the My WS 1 folder.  Can I copy and paste the My WS 1 folder (containing the Pens folder) to my new Painter X folder (within the Documents and Settings) and then after opening Painter find this WorkSpace in the dropdown menu and load it and voila find my custom variants?  Or do I need to do something else?

    Hi Randy,

Yes, you should be able to copy your My WS 1 folder then paste it into the Painter X User folder on your new computer:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Randy\Application Data\Corel\Painter X

Please let us know if this works for you. It should work if you just do what you figured out on your own and I confirmed.

    Cheers!
