    Painter just won't open!

    I bought the Painter Essentials 4 CD-ROM last week and installed it on my PowerBook G4 1GHz, 512MB RAM, Mac OS X 10.5.4. The application will not open. When I click on the icon, it shows the splash screen, then quits immediately. I have also tried the Painter Essentials 4 trial and the Painter X trial and got the same results. I have tried the updates from the Corel site and these don't work. I have had communication on the phone and via email with Corel and their suggestions have not worked. I am about to return my software to the retailer for a refund.

    Hi  Zarukishimen, and welcome to The PainterFactory!

    Since your problem is with both Core Painter X and Corel Painter Essentials 4, you might want to also post this message at Essentials Cafe which is the sister site to The PainterFactory, but it's for Painter Essentials.

    You'll find a link to Essentials Cafe in the upper right corner of The PainterFactory Reception page.

    Thanks for the tip, although I suspect the solution will be walking away from Corel's clunky products.
