    Printer GUI

I'm having difficulty using the Corel printer GUI .

For some reason, the "Canvas Resize" feature won't hold its settings and also I can't get prints with the entire graphic printed.

The program [or printer] also doesn't center the picture in the print and won't make a borderless print.

Is there a resource I can use in order to straighten this out?  At this point I'm thinking about installing R.I.P. software but the cost is really too high.

"Painter" is a terrific program, but I need to get output up to par.  Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi Lima,

Just want to stop and welcome you to The PainterFactory!

I can't help you with the printing problem, but hopefully someone else can give you the answers you need.

    Canvas > Resize:

If we open an existing image, Canvas > Resize displays the settings used when that image was created, until we change the settings for that image.

When we open a new Canvas, Canvas > Resize then displays the settings used when the new Canvas was opened, or the last settings we apply to that image.

In other words, if we want multiple images to have the same Canvas > Resize settings, we need to either open them all using those settings or adjust the settings to match.

Adjustments that need to be made outside of the Canvas > Resize dialog box:

If the dimensions are different for each (or one) of the multiple images we want to display the same settings in the Canvas > Resize dialog box, and do not have the same aspect ratio, we may need to either add pixels to the Canvas width or height or use the Crop tool to adjust the aspect ratio... before viewing the settings in the Canvas > Resize dialog box.

    Hi Lima!

Can you tell me what operating system you are using?  Also, what kind of printer do you have?  Does it support borderless printing?

    Thanks!

Sure, I'm using Leopard 10.5.3 with an Epson Stylus Photo R2400.  I also use Vista bootcamped on a Mac with CS3 on it.  The problems of getting the "Canvas Resize" is, of course, only related to "Painter X", but I do get borderless prints using PS in Vista.  I haven't looked back at "Painter X" since the reply above, so, I'll see if I'm doing something incorrectly.

    Hi Lima,

I've moved this thread from the General Discussion forum to the Got a Question? forum since it's about Painter X and it seems there's a technical issue that may involve the Corel Painter developers.

Actually, it's about PainterX, not IX.

    Thanks, Lima.

    Typo corrected!

Now for some dinner, then sleep... to overcome being punchy. ;)
