    Painter X - Cursor Bug

Hello everyone, first of all painter is a really great paint-software, but like in every software there are more or less some bugs. I want to share with you my problem and the solution for this problem of course. I am not sure about the reason or how this can happen, but the cursor leaves some "cursor-ghosts" somewhere on the screen. See my attachment below to have a idea how it looks like after some time. To avoid these "cursor-ghosts" you need only to go to the options Preferences > General and disable the Enhanced Brush Ghost. Christoph

     Hi Christoph,

That is one I have yet to see. Your fix however is the right one. I too have turned off the ghosting not for this reason but because I dont need to see where I am in relation to the tablet. I can actually feel it.... I do however turn it on when using the 6D Pen to see where the brush is pointing.

I will however send this onto the QA team, and have Wendy and the team have a look.

    Cheers,

    Rob

    Christoph,

    Welcome to The PainterFactory!

    Rob,

The stuck-on-the-screen Enhanced Brush Ghost thing happens to me, too, now and then.

It seems to be related to other screen refresh problems, though that's only an intuition-based guess. Screen refresh problems occur, for me, when I've been working in Painter X (now Painter X.1) for too long (an hour or more) and especially when I have other resource-intensive programs running at the same time.

When following my own advice (see Keeping Painter 6 Through Painter X.1 Running Smoothly - Updated February 6, 2008, by Jinny Brown ) these things, and other performance problems, don't seem to happen so often.

    Cheers!

    Jin

    Hi all:

I've also seen this issue from time to time - usually maximizing/minimizing the document window makes the extra ghost cursors go away.  I've reported it to our dev and if they come up with anything else, I'll be sure to post it here.

    Thanks!

    Wendy
